Ruth, Robert and myself - after a fabulous four days of Shiatsu Peace....

On Wednesday 27th July, 2022, our two year wait was realised, as we stopped at the Site Manager's office to register, be wrist banded and taken to our site at the Arboretum, the Healing Fields of WOMAD.

Other therapists were putting up their tents around the 'healing circle' where workshops would take place in the next few days and we were told this year there were very few therapist stalls compared to previous WOMAD festivals, so we had space - nice - BUT would we have customers?
We needn't have worried. Once festival goers began arriving on Thursday, bookings began to drip in. By Thursday afternoon, we were booking up and had plenty of advanced bookings on Friday. During Friday, the drip became a stream and I realised we should have planned to have a receptionist! Ruth created two shiatsu spaces inside the tent to accommodate the demand, Robert treated outside on the chair and also in the tent, and by Saturday midday we were virtually booked up. Many people came again, so we actually had to begin turning people away.

What I enjoyed most about this experience was meeting many that were very receptive to Shiatsu massage, even if they hadn't come across Shiatsu before. Clients would leave blissful and amazed, hoping one of us lived near to their homes so that they could access the same treatment more regularly.
